Sarah

has been teaching music in some form since 2016, when she graduated from VanderCook College of Music with her Bachelors in Music Education. Though she started out in the band setting, she quickly turned her focus to piano. After seeing that her students regularly had trouble finding a piano tuner, she started to explore piano tuning and technology for herself in 2025.

Experience

When Sarah decided to become a piano technician, she started with an intensive with the New York School of Piano Tuning, followed by study with the Piano Technician Academy, earning certificates from both. Wanting to continue education and expand her abilities, she joined and has since been a member of the Piano Technicians Guild, regularly participating in continuing education opportunities.

While in the early stages of learning, Sarah was still teaching, and had access to pianos at multiple school locations, giving her plenty of experience on well used and older instruments, including both uprights and grand pianos.

Naming Piano Coris

Coris plant, a flowering desert plant with purple blooms.

Naming the studio was quite a project for Ms. Sarah. She always had trouble naming things, and this was a big decision! In talking with family about the problem, they pulled up the memory of Mama Anderson's former plant care business. The original business was named from the plant in the primrose family.
